Stephan ‘SK’ Kondert is an Austrian Bassplayer, Composer, Arranger and Music Producer. Stephan is predominantly known for his Big Band 'SK INVITATIONAL, founded in 2006, and his Trio THE RUFF PACK, co-founded in 2009. The worldwide projects focus on the fusions of Jazz, Hiphop and Funk, and feature a selection of international Jazz Musicians, Rappers, Pop, and Soul Singers.
His recent works include the world-music project SKxAngelite, highlighting the world renown choir The Bulgarian Voices Angelite and some of New York’s finest musicians Mino Cinelu, Lee Hogans, Mat ‘Pedals’ Loescher, Ray Angry, Manu Delago and Anwar Marshal. SK co-produced and co-wrote the album ‘Loopholes’ with singer and trumpet protege Andrea Motis, which topped the Jazz charts in Japan at its release in 2022, and co-produced the album ‘All About Love - New Visions’ in 2024 from poet and rapper Akua Naru. Ms. Naru is also collaborating with SK on Brown University and other educational theater production projects, where he is serving as music composer and co-producer.
When not touring with his own project, he has worked for several other artists as producer and touring musician. SK has collaborated with artists including M.O.P., Rahzel, TY, Homeboy Sandman, Bette Smith, Dave Murray, Gregory Hutchinson, Hamid Drake, Nasheet Waits, Blak Twang, Edo G, Lee Hogans, John Robinson, Jonatan Hoard, Illa J, Ensemble Resonanz, China Moses, Blumentopf, Texta, Fiva, Mono&Nikitaman, Bushido, Nazar, Conchita Wurst, New Opera Vienna and others.
Since 2015, SK resides in NYC working as a Professional musician.
